    PGD in Business Management and a B.Sc. (Chemistry) from Mumbai University. A passionate environmentalist spends endless hours on the ground to protect the last remaining fragments of Biodiversity left in our country. He heads the activities of conservation undertaken by Vanashakti.

  • Kavita Mallya
  • A former Greenpeace India activist with a M.Sc. in Environmental Science from Mumbai University, she’s also had experience working with the BNHS and the CAT. For her Master thesis, she has developed a marine pollution detection proxy using marine microfossil working with the Micropaleontology Laboratory of the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa. She is an experienced field biologist with expertise in birds and reptiles.

  • Ahmed Ali
  • A student of Acting from Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepare, Ahmed is a choreographer and theater person who hails from rural India and yet is on par with his urban counterpart. He has a decade long experience of working with grassroot level NGOs in interior Maharashtra. To his credit are students from interior Maharahtra that he trained in theatre and dance who are now absorbed in mainstream theatre and films.

  • Ashwin Aghor
  • A former senior correspondent with notable publications and dailies such as Hindustan Times, DNA and BBC Hindi, with a post-graduation in Journalism, Ashwin Aghor is a Senior Conservation Officer with Vanashakti. His area of engagement is River Conservation, and he advocates for the protection and preservation of rivers from human interference, domestic or industrial, that pollute, distort or damage river bodies and related ecosystems, and calls for their redressal and restoration.

  • Sarita Fernandes
  • A former coastal conservation member for the WWF, Sarita holds post-graduation in both Public Policy and International Relations, with specialization in Environment and Coastal Policy. She is a Conservation Officer at both Vanashakti and SagarShakti, a subset of Vanashakti converging on coastal concerns. She is engaged in implementation and management of coastal policy, addressing violations related to conservation, and policy protection of marine biodiversity, coastal land use and coastal & fishing community representation .

  • Pawan Patil
  • A graduate in Zoology, Pawan is keenly engaged in forest, mangrove and coastal conservation efforts of the organisation, ensuring effective implementation of the same.

  • Prajakta Malusare
  • A post graduate in Environmental Sciences, Prajakta is an expert in green Solid Waste Management practices and sustainable conservation practices on for both land and water bodies. She centres her expertise into Education, Outreach and CSR activities, ensuring effective implementation of the same.

  • Firdos Khan
  • A post graduate in Environmental Sciences, Firdos is a Butterflies Identification expert and is engaged in Education, Outreach and CSR activities, ensuring effective implementation of the same.

  • A law graduate (B.A.LLB) from Jindal Global Law School, NCR Delhi. Having completed various courses on business, media and arbitration laws in India, USA and Germany, a keen interest in environmental laws allows him to give a holistic approach to environmental issues in all sectors.
